Item Description
6.5x23" piece of thin artboard features pen and ink original art by second "Rip Kirby" artist John Prentice (who took over from creator Alex Raymond when Raymond died in a car crash in 1956). For Sept. 9, 1958 daily strip, which featured three panels. First panel features police discussing murder. Second panel features Rip helping distraught woman w/her fur and offering her a sedative and a safe place to spend the night. Third panel shows Rip and Harrison discussing how close the shooting came to he and Honey. Second panel has KFS copyright strip paste-over. Prentice has signed and dated last panel. Scattered age staining. Pin holes/staple holes at left/right margins. Art remains VF.
